In celebration of Number Day, our pupils took their learning outdoors for an exciting and engaging day of maths challenges! The day kicked off with an outdoor trail, where students worked in teams to complete a series of maths tasks spread across different areas of the school grounds, including the MUGA, Play Park, front of school, and Outdoor Learning Area.
The challenges were designed to put their skills to the test, with activities involving number, measuring, money, area, perimeter, and shape. One of the highlights of the day was a car park survey, where pupils used their mathematical knowledge to gather and analyse data in a real-world context.
This hands-on approach to learning not only allowed the students to apply their maths skills in fun and practical ways, but also provided fantastic opportunities for teamwork and collaboration. Working together in groups, students supported each other to solve problems, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
Maths outdoors is a brilliant way to bring learning to life, and Number Day was a great reminder of how much fun maths can be when it's explored in the fresh air!
