School Uniform Questionnaire

This term, our writing focus is Persuasive Writing. We are learning how to write a strong argument either for or against school uniform. To help us do this, we have been exploring some of the most effective persuasive devices, including:

  • Alliteration
  • Facts and statistics
  • Opinions
  • Rhetorical questions
  • Repetition
  • Emphasis
  • Triplets (groups of three)

We discovered that persuasive arguments are more convincing when they are supported by real evidence. That’s why we carried out our own questionnaire with the people who know school uniform best—the pupils of MPS!

Each member of our class interviewed 10 pupils, gathering information about their thoughts on school uniform. This means we now have our own data and percentages to use in our persuasive essays, helping us write arguments that are clear, powerful, and backed up by facts.
