Since February half-term it has been all go!!.......We began with a Spring walk around Gosford Forest Park accompanied by all the Infant classes. Have a look at the photos and see if you can name all the things we spotted.
Our new topic "The Mighty Jungle" began. The photos showing our classroom displays demonstrate how busy you all were. There are stories, art work, researches on animals, computer drawings and science experiments on view. Many of you now know the different layers of a rain forest.
We kept tadpoles that began changing into froglets which are now back in a pond happily hopping and swimming about. A visit for a day from Kerry's Mediterranean tortoise Speedy caused much excitement and we concluded the topic by a visit to Belfast Zoo.
Despite a disappointing day weather wise we still had fun though we had to play the game "Who can spot an animal?" as many animals were sheltering from the rain!! Those of us who were brave enough even held or stroked a few creatures.
Key Stage One also held a sponsered bounce and collected over £1,000 for new outdoor equipment! Now that there is an improvement in the weather we should be able to access the outdoor play area more often. This was later followed by the whole school clocking up miles on bicycles; how active we have been!!
