Markethill walk
As part of our "Build it!" topic; one sunny morning we had a walk around Markethill to look at all the different buildings. Could the signs and labels give us a clue as to the function of the buildings? Could the children recognise the different types of housing?................The children really enjoyed the walk and are now great at spotting different types of houses- bungalow, semi-detached, detached and terraced. What stars! Mrs McKelvey was a great asset on our walk since she knew about some of the history of Markethill. For example, the children now know where the doctor lived and that he was the first person to drive a motor car.
