Our Amaryllis Lily
This term our topic is 'Busy Birds and Precious Plants'. We have been learning about plants and what they need to grow. In January, we planted an Amaryllis Lily bulb. We had great fun guessing how many stems would grow, how many flowers would grow on each stem and, most importantly, what colour the flowers would be. Everyday (when Mrs Black remembered or when Annie reminded her!), we measured the length of the stem. We were even able to calculate "the difference" in height from one day to the next! We also watered it and even sang to it to make it grow even taller!! Well...if going to Gosford today wasn't excitement enough, we arrived in our classroom this morning to this wonderful sight!
