P3 Mr Scott

We love learning in P3. Our topic this term is 'Castles'.

On Monday 21st March we boarded a bus to Carrickfergus! It was a long journey but we had such an action-packed full-filled day out! When we arrived we went to a park to have our break. The park was so much fun and we all had a blast playing there. Then it was time to visit the castle. It was so amazing to see the castle and Mark, our guide, taught us lots of interesting things about castles. We loved getting dressed up as Knights and Kings and Queens and we even got the chance to come down the spiral staircase! We had to watch out for the trip step though! We had a great day- check out our photos by clicking on the castle below.

Thursday 3rd March was World Book Day. We all dressed up as superheroes (because reading gives us superpowers) and Mr Scott and Mrs McClean even got dressed up! We had a great day of superhero fun! We went on a secret mission to find the superheroes who were hiding around the school. We had lots of fun at the superhero photo booth too. Mrs Whiteside, Mrs Morrison and Miss Douglas also read some stories for us. We made awesome bookmarks with Miss Jenkinson too! We had a wonderful day!

P3 have used an iPad app called 'Wordfoto' to create these wonderful pictures of each other. We thought of words to describe our friends and added them to their photos. Click on the photo below to see the rest of our class!

This term we've been learning all about 'Healthy Eating' with a P3 class from St. Patrick's Primary School in Crossmaglen. We've been learning about healthy foods and about the importance of looking after our teeth! Check out some of the pictures of what we've been getting up to by clicking the picture below!

We made the most delicious pizzas! In class we've been learning about instructions. We thought it would be a great idea to make write our own instructions about how to make pizzas- then we actually did!

Our pizza was so tasty!

On Thursday 15th October some of the P5s turned Markethill Primary into a 'Petting Farm' for the day. A sheep, a goat, two calves, two puppies, a dog, a rabbit and a bearded dragon came to our school. It cost 20p to see the animals and the money raised was donated to USPCA. The P5s also sold lots of yummy buns to make some more money! Well done to the P5 girls for organising such a great fundraiser for a great cause!

We love using the equipment in PE every Friday! Check out some photos of us showing off our gymnastics skills by clicking on the photo below.

On Friday 25th September we had our Sponsored Bounce. The weather was perfect and we all had a fantastic time on the bouncy castles. Our class raised over £350! Well done everyone! The P1-3 classes raised over £1486.40 altogether. This money will be used to buy some infant play resources! Hooray!

We love learning through play during 'Activity Based Learning'. In P3 we have ABL twice every week! Check out a few photos of us enjoying our ABL time below...
